Volunteer Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator
Purpose:
- Recruit and manage volunteers for daily hostel programs and projects.
Major Responsibilities:
- Recruit new volunteers through volunteer fairs, community events, and local contacts.
- Create a monthly orientation session for volunteers.
- Schedule volunteers to lead and organize programs
- Lead volunteer meetings in conjunction with hostel management.
- Organize biannual volunteer appreciation events.
- Organize and Record Volunteer Information in the office.
Reporting Relationship:
- This position reports to manager and assistant manager of hostel.
Experience:
- Previous volunteer, hostelling, travel, and public contact experience helpful.
Special Skills:
Excellent communication skills, including writing and telephone usage. Excellent people skills.
Self motivated, ability to work independently.
Basic computer knowledge, including email, Internet, and word processing skills.
Good organizational skills.
Time Commitment/ hours:
Requires a commitment of 10 hours per week, at least two days of office hours. Some work can be done at home.
Benefits:
- Complimentary membership after 3 months of service.
- Reimbursement of local travel expenses related to position. (Not including driving to office.)
- Free admission at hostel special events.
Location:
- Local hostel office and conference room.
